Academics

The Junior School offers a comprehensive academic curriculum from Junior Kindergarten to Grade Six. Consistent with the mission of the school, we deliver a program that focuses on the preparation of our students for ongoing study in our Middle School. The program is rich and broad, embracing the holistic development of each child.

From Kindergarten, children are presented a rigorous core program in Language and Mathematics, so that they have a solid foundation in basic literacy and numeracy. Our teaching methods are varied in order to accommodate unique differences and learning styles in a supportive environment.

As an independent elementary school, we are not bound by provincial guidelines, although they broadly guide our courses of study. We have the flexibility to extend the Ministry curriculum to challenge students and review content to meet individual interests and needs. Our independence also allows us to incorporate recent research on teaching and learning in an immediate and pragmatic way.

Junior School Calendar (Grades 1 to 6)
Please see the school calendar, monthly calendar and important dates for information about break weekends, registration days and holiday school closures. Recognizing our generous breaks, the school cannot tolerate students leaving early or returning late. Please use this calendar to plan holidays and travel time in order to minimize lost school time.
