Lunch Program
A balanced meal is served to the students of the Junior School each day. A scheduled menu is available at your request. Every effort is made to present our students with a variety of items including soup, fresh cut vegetables, fruit, milk, juice, treats and a main entrée. All lunches are supervised by the Form Teachers in their classrooms and the lunchroom. Please inform your child's teacher as soon as possible if your son or daughter has an allergy or a faith-based dietary exclusion. Albert College does not provide individualized lunch plans for students based on food preferences.
Extra Curricular Activities
All students are encouraged to become involved in the life of the school. Various activities and sports are offered (subject to interest and staff availability) during the year. Please encourage your child to become involved! Most after-school activities apply to students in the Junior Division only. Various lunch time activities are offered throughout the year. The following list is a sample of some of the activities which are offered: choir, cross-country running, track and field, chess club, basketball, soccer and intramural games.
Leadership & Active Citizenship
The Junior School promotes Active Citizenship by embracing the core values of participation and a caring community. A number of leadership and community service opportunities exist for students to become actively involved in the civic life of the school and the community. Students with leadership potential are recognized and encouraged to develop their potential by working closely with staff to plan events and be ambassadors of the school.
Classroom Newsletters
Each classroom teacher publishes a bi-weekly newsletter to help keep parents informed about class work and special events. Field trips are communicated in separate letters and general information is sent home by the Director throughout the year. Please read each item carefully to ensure that your child is well prepared. If your son or daughter does not bring a newsletter home, please ask for one or check their backpack.
As a policy, Albert College does not circulate personal flyers, pamphlets or other materials for organizations or parents. Non-school related materials are not to be posted on the campus. If you have a special request, please speak to the Director of the Junior School.
