The Middle School program begins with a well-defined set of
values -- diligence, honesty, compassion, respect, and service.

"Self-esteem and motivation are the natural result of personal effort and earned achievement. When students graduate from the Middle School, they are prepared to take on the challenges of secondary school with confidence! They are more self-confident, independent thinkers, and they have had an opportunity to learn and master a variety of learning skills."
- Keith Stansfield, Head of School |
Academics
Grade 7 & 8
Dedicated teachers strive to create a stimulating grade 7 and 8 environment where our students feel that they are valued for the unique personal qualities and perspectives they each brings to the classroom.
To ensure a smooth and rewarding transition, into the Senior School, the academic program blends core teachers for English, Mathematics, Science, Social Studies, and Physical Education with specialists in French, Computers, Art, and Music. There is even an opportunity for students to obtain high school credits. As part of the Middle School experience, Middle School leaders promote academic excellence by assisting their students to develop outstanding learning skills.
Arts
Embrace your Creativity
The creative talents of our young learners are fostered in Arts Period. Three times a week each student has an opportunity to either play with the concert band, sing in the choir, or rehearse for the annual school drama production.
Athletics
Go Panthers!
Athletics is a vital part of the Middle School experience. Over the course of the year, students participate in soccer, lacrosse, cross-country running, volleyball, basketball, track and field, rugby and
a variety of Junior House League events.
Adventure
Discover...
The Adventure trips in the Middle School are designed with the energy and curiosity of the young adolescent in mind. Camping trips, a French-immersion/ski excursion, theatre, science and cultural outings all allow our students to learn by doing.
Active Citizenship
Share your talents
Our community-minded Middle School students build their leadership skills by taking an active role throughout the school and in the local area. Students have the opportunity to become House League captains and Junior School monitors. They also participate in community-service events including the Terry Fox Run for Cancer, the Moira River Cleanup, 30-Hour Famine, and Hoops for Heart, earning credits towards their Albert College Citizenship Pin along the way.

Middle School Calendar
Albert College has a scheduled break weekend once every month. Break weekends are long weekends which allow boarding students an extra two days (Friday and Monday) to travel home if they wish. Please see the
Middle School Calendar for more information about registration, break weekends, examinations and parent-teacher interviews. A
Monthly Calendar is also available which lists all events scheduled for the school year at Albert College.
